Unlike an ordinary blender, which tend to push contents out to the sides, with the Merlin the centrifugal spinning forces of the blades transport the contents through the sides, then up to the conical form of the container which creates a vacuum suction, finally bringing everything directly back down onto the blade – its akin to a tornado effect and ensures contents are evenly mixed and chopped throughout.

Dreams of Thunder

Laid out and stretched back in the passenger seat of a black Cadillac I awaken dressed in a three piece old style suit from the 70s. Driving the car is a heavy bearded version of The King himself, Elvis Presley. He’s wearing aviators and gives me a big smile. I feel like I’m floating but that’s just the feeling you get when the car is going down a straight endless road at about a 100 miles an hour.
The sky is dark with black clouds and flashes of lightning. The King seems intent on driving and there is a mad grin on his face as he puts pedal to the metal. I hear giggling and turning around I see the Olsen twins seated in the back seat sipping giant cups of Slurpees. They look at me and laugh some more.
“Where are we going?” I ask.
“Where the road takes us kid,” answers Elvis.
After a while of driving we stop at a giant Aztec temple, where a man sized rabbit is waiting in a butler’s costume at the foot of the temple. He looks surprisingly like the rabbit from Donnie Darko. As soon as the car stops the rabbit opens my door and ushers me out. I’m reluctant but Mr. Presley gives me a nod as if to say it’s ok. Who am I to argue with the King so I reluctantly get out of the car as the Olsen twins cheerfully wave good bye.
I follow the butler rabbit up the stairs of the Aztec temple to the very top. There right at the summit of the temple in a cloud drenched sky is seated The Leprechaun WhippleSkin majestically on a throne made out of old vinyl records.
“Welcome Johnny Catch my lad,” he croons.
“What do you want man?” I ask all confused now.
Without saying a word he leaps off his throne and unveils a table with an array of cool looking devices. Suddenly aside the Leprechaun appears Chef Bourdain, dressed in his customary T-shirt and jeans with a bemused look on his face.
“I introduce to you the Merlin 123,” says WhippleSkin, while the world class chef starts preparing a meal. “It’s a specially developed set of tools for food processing and preparation including a motor unit, grinding blades, blender attachments, and various storage units, providing you an all round blending unit that is adept at creating all kinds of gourmet dishes laddie!”
Chef Bourdain smiles at the Leprechaun while he seems to prepare a world class pizza. The smell of good food and the sound of meat being blended fill the air.
I feel lightheaded with delight and the sky above the Aztec temple flashes crazily with lightning while thunder echoes from above.
“What a dream,” I mumble to myself, when I wake up I’m going to have to get myself one of these blenders but for now I just keep dreaming of thunder.
