We have managed to source a veritable horde of Panasonic cordless phone and speaker phone combos, these are superseded models that sold for over $200. Rich in features and built to last, for some reason we decide to knock a zero of the price and so we arrive at just

That's right, for just $29 you pick up a base speaker phone station, portable handset and a pat on the back for scoring again at catch of the day.
This Panasonic combo comes with a portable handset, and base station. With features like caller ID, call waiting ID (so you don't put your current caller on hold just to answer a call from an angry ex!), enough memory onboard for a 30 name address book, call transfer between the base station and portable handset, alarm clock, music on hold, locator function on the base station to find the portable handset and my personal favourite feature. Conversation protection. This is my biggest issue with having multiple handsets on the same phone line, and the reason I make all my private calls on mobile. No need for that now, the system automatically mutes other handsets while another is active, unless of course you do wish to share the call.
If you think about it, for just $29 you are picking up two phones, a base station with speaker phone (worth about $100 on its own) and a portable handset. These units are renewed units from Panasonic Australia in perfect condition. The handset doesn't require any kind of phone connection , the signal is transmitted by the base station, all the handset simply needs to be plugged into a power source.
